Gematria Repository

Privacy Policy

Last Update: 4 November 2024

  1. Collection and use of information

I do not collect personally identifiable information, such as names or email addresses, from visitors to our Site unless they voluntarily submit such information, for example by sending an email or submitting their gematric database in CSV format. I will use email addresses only to respond to inquiries and gematric databases for personal study and research purposes.

    • Analytics and Usage Data

To understand how visitors interact with the Site, I use Google Analytics, a tool provided by Google that collects anonymous usage data, such as the pages visited, time spent on each page, and general information about the device used, such as browser type and language preference. This information helps me improve the content and structure of the Site. No personally identifiable information is collected through Google Analytics.

    • Opting Out

If you wish to disable Google Analytics tracking, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On or adjust your browser settings to block cookies and trackers. More information about this add-on can be found on Google’s website.

  2. Sharing of information

I do not sell, trade, or rent users' personal information to third parties.

  3. Donations

My site offers the option to make donations to support my work.

  4. Protection of information

Appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures are in place to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of personal information, transaction information, and data stored on our Site.

    • Cookie

My Site does not use "cookies" to enhance the user experience.

    • API Keys

In the three versions of Gematria Calculator for Desktop (for Latin, Greek, and Hebrew alphabets) available on our site, users are required to provide an OpenAI API key to utilize chatbot interaction functionalities. Additionally, in the Gematria Calculator - Latin Alphabet version, a DeepL API key is required for translation services. These API keys are transmitted exclusively to the servers of OpenAI and DeepL to provide the respective services.
Currently, the API keys within Gematria Calculator for Desktop are encrypted within the application and stored in two separate text files within the program directory. Encryption ensures that the API keys are not stored in plaintext, reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
Users are solely responsible for the security of their API keys to prevent misuse. Compromised API keys could be used to make unauthorized requests to OpenAI and DeepL services, potentially incurring additional costs or violating the terms of service of these providers.
      It is recommended to:

      • Not share API keys with third parties.
      • Protect access to the program directory to prevent unauthorized access to files containing the API keys.
      • Use additional security measures, such as antivirus software and firewalls, to safeguard systems from intrusion.
      • Avoid storing API keys on shared or public devices.

In the event of API key compromise, users must:

      1. Immediately revoke the API key via the OpenAI or DeepL portals.
      2. Generate a new API key and update the application with the new key.
      3. Regularly monitor the usage of their API keys through the OpenAI and DeepL control panels to detect any suspicious activity.

    • Gematria Repository assumes no responsibility for damages or losses resulting from the compromise of API keys by users. Although the application uses encryption to protect API keys during transmission and storage, the security of locally stored keys depends entirely on the measures users take to secure their devices and program directories.
